So as much as I love to cook and make new recipes, I have started to do the same with baby food. I know it's pretty crazy that throughout the day I dream about making new recipes for baby food, but let me tell you they are good when you make them from home!
My new food that I love and am putting them in everything is AVOCADOS! I know they are nothing new, but I was never such a big fan of them. I don't think I ever appreciated a nice, creamy and delicious avocado. One thing that I've learned from the years is that your tastes change, if you didn't like something in the past, try it every couple years or so. You never know, you might like it.
Here are a couple new recipes with my new favorite food:
Power Packed Strawberry Banana Smoothie
1 1/2c- 3c. Water
1 Banana
1/2 Avocado
1 1/2c. Frozen or Fresh Strawberries
3/4c. Frozen of Fresh Blueberries
2c. Fresh Spinach
Mix all ingredients in the blender. Start with 1 1/2 c. water and add more to your desired consistency. I always like mine thinner than a typical smoothie. Enjoy!
Baby Guacamole
1 Avocado
1 Banana
1/8 c. Frozen Blueberries
1/4c. Water
Take out the pit of the Avocado, and mash it with a fork. Peel the Banana and mash it up with a fork and add to the avocado. Cook the blueberries with 1/4 c. of water. When the blueberries are soft, take them off the heat and puree them with a blender. Add the blueberries to the avocado banana mixture and serve.
I know even if you don't have kids- the baby guacamole is a delicious smoothie!
