Love/ Hate Relationship

I have a Love Hate relationship with running.  For this reason I find myself at a huge predicament.  In order for me to get motivated to lose some weight and start getting healthy again, I figured it would be a great idea to sign up for a marathon.  I mean at the time that I signed up for the Chicago Marathon I was up to running 5 whole minutes without walking!  I know, I know you're thinking "Man, she's crazy!"  but all I was thinking at the time was "Duh, Winning!"  I think I was so motivated at the time that I figured if I signed up and spent the money I will definitely want to workout.  Well, negative on that one!

It has taken me 2 months to get motivated and to get into a running schedule.  Let me tell you though, that I am totally back to the LOVE of running.  This morning before 8am, I had ran 6 miles and felt like a million dollars.  Running outside in the brisk morning air, seeing the sun come up, talking with my wonderful running partner, and downtown in the background felt amazing.

I finally came to the realization that it's not running that I have a Love/ Hate Relationship with but it's the treadmill.  For that reason I say "Thank you treadmill for letting me run in place for the winter, but it's over for the time being.  I'm going to run for the hills and not look back.  See you next November!"

After the great workout this morning I thought how could my day get any better, Right?  Well here's three reasons that make my day better everyday, and they are the reason I do what I do each day.  Who wouldn't want to wake up to these faces daily?

This is how I find Cyril every morning

The 3 reasons!

  1. LOVE! I want to be motivated to run like you! I have a sprinter mentality however, which makes long distances mentally unbearable! Maybe my sweet jogging stroller will help with that! Great first post Stac!

  2. Great idea lady! My family has a blog to help us keep each other focused on staying healthy. It's a great way to keep in touch since Jeff refuses to be a facebooker :)

  3. Thanks Chelsi- yeah I figured you would like the name :) And a good jogging stroller does help with any run. We just got ours and it gets some getting used to. I have Carl take it!

Thanks Emily- I figured that too, it's a good way to stay in touch if people don't have facebook.

  4. Great blog! Love you guys! Let me know how that marathon training progresses. Treadmills are deadly for motivation, glad it's getting a bit warmer out.
